With the foundation of Nutzwerk GmbH, René Holzer and Ramona Wonneberger merged their independent companies. Both wanted to stop being a mere service provider and develop products instead. The products are based on their own technologies that make the internet easily and safely accessible for every user. In 1998, René Holzer invented a content-related data filter that works directly via the access provider.
The data filter protects from questionable files and internet contents. The privacy of users can be secured automatically. If desired by the user, problematic scripts and cookies are deleted. You can surf the internet anonymously. Files that are downloaded from the internet are automatically checked for viruses.
This technology under the name of SaferSurf is available directly at the internet provider. It guarantees confidence and security whenever somebody accesses the internet. The filter works in Germany as well as in Senegal or San Diego, independent of the user's age or religion. This technology won the special prize for the best value added model New Economy/Old Economy (prize money about 10,000 euros, donated by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants) at the Innovation Prize 2001 of the city of Leipzig.
The second product line, Internet in-a-box and Internet-Manager, provides companies of all sectors and even freelancers with stable, preconfigured and easy to use overall solutions. They guarantee easy connection of entire networks with the internet and offer a variety of benefits. Both products support introduced standards – and all this at a very attractive price. Both systems can be used worldwide without adjustments.
Parallel to the commercial products Nutzwerk offers free services and freeware to users. For example, the timeserver for workstations at www.timesynchro.com.
