Innovation Prize of the City of Leipzig
Computer virus wipe-out – Nutzwerk has won.

After only 7 months in Leipzig, Nutzwerk has been awarded the special prize for the best value added model New Economy/Old Economy (prize money about 10,000 euros, donated by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants) for their real-time data filter.

Every year the city of Leipzig awards the innovation prize and honors the best independent product with world market capability. In addition this year there were special prizes for the best value added model, the most successful business establishment from a university, and the smartest idea. Out of 143 applicants only the 12 best succeeded and presented their solutions before a highly qualified jury on October 25, 2001.

"All participants were measured against a matrix created by us. Nutzwerk as the winner received a grade of 2.6 after all criteria had been matched. We were surprised that the second one was so far behind with a grade of only 4.3", says Hermann Vogel of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.

Nutzwerk presented its patented real-time data filter. This data filter can analyze binary data streams in real-time and eliminate critical or unwanted contents. Nutzwerk's real-time data filter is going to take away the fear of viruses in the internet as well as the fear of child pornography or right-wing extremist contents. The user will not even notice anything of the cleaning process since the data stream is cleaned directly at the internet provider. The company network or the private PC receives a clean data stream. The user does not need to install or maintain an anti-virus program any more.

René Holzer, CEO of Nutzwerk, says: "We are going to wipe out file viruses. The motivation for crackers to wreak havoc is going to vanish. Our invention will show that trust and security are possible whenever somebody accesses the internet.

Nutzwerk GmbH specializes in simple and safe solutions for the internet. As developer, Nutzwerk has applied for 4 patents for its own inventions in this field over the last 18 months, including for Europe and the USA.
