Press release January 28, 2002

Thank you Leipzig
Nutzwerk is glad to be in the famous trade fair city.

10 months after having opened their Leipzig branch, the internet technology company Nutzwerk says a special thankyou to all Leipzig residents. Nutzwerk shows an advertising spot saying thanks on a billboard near the Hotel Inter-Continental. "Since our first day in Leipzig we have felt a strong support. The positive atmosphere regarding new technologies could be felt clearly", comments Ramona Wonneberger, CEO of Nutzwerk, on the reasons for the advertising spot.

The department for promotion of economic development helped Nutzwerk to look for an office and to deal with the authorities. During a specially organized tour, the promotion department showed Nutzwerk several suitable offices. Within only two days the most suitable object had been found. The company was up and running after one month without complications. Nutzwerk now has its place of business on the top floor of the Atrium in Kohlgartenstrasse, offering a phantastic view over the city center of Leipzig.

The highlight of the year 2001 was the award of the special prize for the best value added model New Economy/Old Economy (prize money about 10,000 euros, donated by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants) on the occasion of the Innovation Prize 2001 of the city of Leipzig. "We knew that our technology is unique in the world. But we were surprised that we have beaten the big companies that are already established in Leipzig. This shows that there is a different spirit in this city. Young, upcoming companies find the same positive starting point as global enterprises like BMW and Porsche", says Rene Holzer, founder of Nutzwerk. "We have met Leipzigers from all areas without prejudice against technology and the internet. If there are people working in the town hall that can get enthusiastic about new technologies, Leipzig must do a lot absolutely right. The world is going to hear a lot about Leipzig in the future", continues Holzer.

Nutzwerk with its headquarters in Halle (Saale) has 15 employees in Leipzig. The entire product development and organization has been moved from Halle to Leipzig. At the next corporate meeting a decision will be made about whether or not to move the headquarters to Leipzig, too.
