Safe browser and eMail settings with one click
Free tool for better protection after evaluation of security tests

After more than 1000 internet users had carried out the security tests on www.safersurf.com within only a few days, Nutzwerk now offers a free tool for adjusting the security settings of the Internet Explorer and MS Outlook. "When the security portal of the Federal Government, sicherheit-im-internet.de, mentioned our security tests and the test showed the alarming result of 85 percent unprotected browsers, our specialists programmed a tool. The browser settings can be optimized with only one mouse click", says René Holzer, CEO of Nutzwerk and inventor of the real-time data filter SaferSurf.

This optimization closes the biggest security gap – the automatic installation of dangerous dialers via signed ActiveX controls. The default setting in the Internet Explorer enables dialers to install and execute programs automatically and without confirmation.

The test evaluation also showed that more than 70 percent of the users did not have an active protection against viruses and Trojans. "After the security settings have been adjusted with our tool, the user can automatically protect himself against viruses and other data rubbish. Every user can register with our SaferSurf service for an extensive free test", continues Holzer.
